Posted 12/04/13 09:03 AM Share Posted 12/04/13 09:03 AM Holograms are created by a poorly used rotary. The whispy white lines are thousands of micro scratches all etched into the finish as the machine moves in a that direction. Generally its from using aggressive compounds or wool pads, and not keeping the pad flat, pushing it along on an angle. Just about impossible to get thm by hand or by random orbital machine. But as Spinr said you can get micro marring instead.

As I mentioned in your other thread, you need something to clean the paint down after your done. A 20% Isopropyl mix with water is a good place to start, or Carpro Eraser from Waxit. If you leave any swirl remover or UC on the paint when you apply your wax, it wont stick properly. Kinda like trying to paint a greasy surface, it just wont stick.the reason I posted the hologram pic was to educate and show people. Definitely a good idea to post the picture. Ford are shocking for delivering cars with paint defects.Alot of people think its a cool effect of metallic paint. There are even cars out there that guys intentionally introduce holograms as flames etc. Edited 12/04/13 10:45 PM by Rancidpunx
