'Prior to paint correction'???

My silhouette doesnt look like a mirror like yours does. I am looking at getting it corrected soon so hopefully it will come up like glass as yours looks in those photos

obviously your not happy with yours so maybe the photos make it look a bit better than it is

goodluck with yours but I think mine will need a bit more work

I never said I wasn't happy. I'm about to apply a coating so this next correction is all about going after that last few percent, that as an enthusiast detailer I feel I can get.

Look at all the extreme detailing work done out there and you will notice its not always the professionals who are doing it, and that's because of cost. To get a high end finish will cost heaps just in labour, and to get a ultra-high end finish just goes up in cost exponentially (like power) once you hit a sweet spot. Are you going to pay someone per the hour to go after that last few percent of smallest of imperfections? Maybe, maybe not. This is why you have massive groups of enthusiasts picking up machines and learning to do this stuff themselves :)

To correct a paint finish to 80-90% for a car the size of a falcon is 10-12hrs. To start chasing the extra 10% or so will take around the same time again. At this point not only does time fly by but work actually slows down as attention and concentration goes up. Its all very well being able to polish the paint to a flawless finish but its then the ability to keep it flawless whilst finishing the detail with your favourite wax, sealant etc. Theres plenty of threads of forums about guys who cant get rid of swirls and I would suspect that they are just re-introducing them whilst working.

I always LSP immediately and don't know why anyone wouldn't.

Also, the last time I did a paint correction on my car was around 3 years ago. I think it's still in pretty good condition, which I put down to sensible cleaning practices and regularly washing it, along with maintaining some kind of LSP.

Just wanna say thanks to rancidpunx for his advice. I have just finished giving my car a clean and it's the best it's ever looked!! Started with wash, claybar, wash then finished with ZAINO Z5 polish. This stuff is unreal, easy to apply and looks awesome. Thanks again mate. I only have an iPhone and the photos I took don't do it justice so didn't post any (picsorban??)
