Hop in your car put the accelerator flat to the floor and then wind the car over for 10 seconds (The car shoudnt start) as far as I know, it resets the throttle position sensor or something... Worth a try though.

Recieved the pdf file!

Cheers!

Gonna try test it out this weekend .. (hopefully)

Only thing is the ETC light dosnt flash as far as iv seen whilst driving it.

And yes. Iv tried resetting the TPS with the cranking at full throttle.

ill plug a scanner back in.. Got a couple scanners here. So ill plug it back in again and see what comes up.

Iv spoken to a friend who used to work at ford and I explained the problem. And he said everything that metalphreak has said in regards to the TPS. & PPS

The one thing he did add is the turbo actuator.

And said its possible that the actuator is sticking and not opening. The computer recognizes this and cuts the throttle to prevent overboost (which is one of the codes that occurs after this fault) .. As I havnt seen any throttle codes come up yet.

Does this make any sense? And is it possible this could be the case?

hey bionic, so I had a better look in the day time and the loud ticking noise is coming from the boost solenoid (I think).

Anyway, I logged the wastegate, are you able to log yours to see if the graph looks the same?

The graph is simply showing WOT for about 10 seconds

edit: just remembered you may be running an external gate. damn

So... After the weekend just passed iv come to the conclusion of my wastegate is rooted.

Because it was opening up Sometimes the ECU would cut the throttle back to prevent overboosting and my motor going kabooom!

Reasons iv decided is the car did not log any throttle codes which as said previously wud always log a code and only a "wastegate not open under pressure" code was always logged. And now. My actuator no longer opens. And havnt had any throttle loss. So.. Looks like its gonna be an expencive one.

Bigger and better acutator, port and flapper mod to turbo. X3 flash and a tune.... Tops. Haha!

Cheers for all the help everyone! and I hope this thread helps others too!

Reving it in neutral won't show you anything relating to boost.

It does sound like a stuffed cat to me.

I fixed a mates car once that would not rev passed 3000rpm. It was like it had a limiter. Turned out the cat internals had broken away and turned sideways on the housing practically blocking the exhaust.
