Looking at getting a transmission cooler for my car, and I'm not sure whether to run it in series with the radiator, or as a stand alone cooler. Was there many issues with the coolant mixing with oil on the 4 speeds? Will the stand alone cooler warm up enough without going through the radiator before driving?

Yep,they had mass mixing issues.

A V8 spec PWR cooler or B&M cooler are the go for performance and cost.Brackets will need to be made up,does your car have a larger front mount cooler?

Basically its the biggest core they have off the shelf, even though we are 6cyl we need more than 6cyl core size to aid in cooling.

If you can,the B&M will work better as it has a higher BTU rating, look this word up for more understanding of a coolers makeup.if you want the best the SETRAB is the bees knees.

With a Typhoon cooler you will have enough room to front mount it behind top grill,I had a B&M cooler setup like this when running the phoon cooler.

Run the trans cooler on its own then you never have to worry about it mixing with coolant if the rad fails.

Mate, what made you think you needed one? I'm thinking of getting one cos I have a suspicion my transmission has over-heated a few times causing the car to go into limp mode. Jus wondering what is influencing your decision? :beerchug:

Never had an auto car before, just don't want to take any chances. Installed the f6 cooler today and was going to do auto cooler next week but after seeing how much room there is, might get the mechanic to do it lol
