It has big misses randomly while cruising and occasionally turns itself off. It can be nesr on impossible to start afterwards where I can nearly flatten the battery trying. Plugs are new. Coils are about 50,000km old. The xcal shows cam sensor faults in bank a and b. I've pulled the tappet cover off and checked the cam phasors, they look alright (had an issue with one a few years back). I'm guessing I'll need to change the coils but would a dud coil explain the car tuening itself off?

I need boiling water to start it when cold :(

The process sounds quite stream lined and smart. It's expensive though.

The negative terminal was loose/buggered and the battery needed a good trickle charge for 24hrs. She starts beautifully now and in this cold weather starts without hesitation
