Check all lobes of the cam and rollers on the rocker arm. Check all springs and retainers for proper fitting. You can check clearances for hydraulic lifters. There is a correct proceedure . You can also check valve stem heights with rocker gear off. check VCT. Look for any unusual marks. You can even clean lifters by taking them apart.If you cant find anything then just replace all lifters and see how you go. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Used to get loud lifter noise in my AU when using thicker oil, went thinner and after a week the lifter noises dissappeared.Worth a shot before changing all your lifters.
