Hmm, so spending say, 71k on the 2 cars, would net something like this?

$50990 on an xr6t - 20k spend - 400rwkws

$67890 on an F6 - 3k spend - 320rkws

or

$50990 xr6t, lux pack 4500 (leather interior, reverse camera, dual climate, premium ICC, sat nav, 19" wheels, 15k on mods/money towards brakes - 370rkwk+

$67890 F6, 3k mods

Seems more realistic to go the xr6t, unless you are purely after the look and wank factor of owning an FPV

:bliss:

In terms of $ per KW you're better off buying a busted-arse BA and throwing $20k at it. But that's a bit of a retarded argument, none of it really relevant to the topic though is it?

In my opinion the FPVs are something special but as with everything it's different strokes for different blokes.

I probably wouldn't ever buy one...doesn't mean I don't appreciate them.

As for the locking fuel flaps though :headbang2:

Guy calm down I don't care what you lot have F6 or XR6 I got one because I wanted an F6 and sure as hell didn't pay $65000 for it

And Pauline I'm a old bloke starting to grey if I so wanted to buy a $19000 XR6 to eat my F6 I could of bought 4

Is it any wonder why prodrive sold its interests

But you can buy a brand new F6 $54000 drive away why wouldn't you

Just to clarify I haven't bought new $46000 2011 7000km I had the option this or New XR6

I chose the F6 it's already depreciated for the year where as the XR6 was going to loose $10000 the moment it touched the road

Nothing more nothing less further more I been a ford fan for 38 years it's not the latest craze for me I'll enjoy stock I'll enjoy it off tap

FPV have great engines need to add more value into their cars. When you see a HSV on the road they have presence, some like this, some don't but it seems HSV have a marketing edge over FPV.

Apart from the body kit FPVs are pretty much the same as the rest of the range, HSV have tried to make them look a lot different to a std model. Ford now have a opening with reduced overheads to go all out and give the FPV range a real tweek. Just need to get on equal ground with HSV and with engine/gearbox combos giving FPV a performance edge who knows the Falcon might fight on a little longer.

I think we're all almost arguing the same point.

FPV's brand new are a waste of money in terms of what you get, and how they depreciate.

XR6T's are better brand new in terms of value and what you'd get when spending the same amount as a brand new FPV

FPV's second hand are good value as they're the same, if not cheaper than an XR6T brand new - you just have a couple of kms on the clock.

Now it probably comes down to "second hand F6 - 46k vs second hand xr6t - 25-30k. could again spend 15-20k on the second hand xr6t and get more out of it" lol
