Just realised CAPA has an FG cooler. 460 x 430 x 55mm. Thickness kind of worries me compared to PW, Plaz etc. Isn't the stock cooler 55mm?

But for $400 a better version of the Monza maybe? If you don't intend to pull big power and don't want to cut anything then probably not a bad option compared to going Monza?

I always suggest people to pay the extra and get the pw new stepped cooler. over any monza or capa coolers.

I have a cappa cooler on my BFMK2. I would say that they are "better" than Monza/eBay coolers. But at the end of the day the choice comes down to whether you'd pay the difference for a little more power. I'm sure the cappa would be better than the stock FG and good for over the 300 club.

Yes the thickness is 55mm stock, but so is the F6 310 and that is much bigger than the XR and produces more power. Do the math and weigh up the costs.

Good luck!

Well the tuner I'm looking at going too swears by sticking to the stock cooler and just changing the piping but I'm going for 300rwkw and I can't help but think for just a few hundred on a better cooler will help.

I do like the look of the PW stepped Freak!

I guess its one of those things, if you want to upgrade stock its only $300 for a monza, but for $100 more you get a Capa, but for like $100 more you get HDI but then for a few hundred more you can get PW! Might just run the stock cooler and see how it holds up and save up for a PW stepped.

Still be interested to see if anyone has used this on an FG and the change in intake temps with back to back runs etc

Sounds like your tuner is trying to save you money. That's a good tuner. Listen to him, just get the pipes for now. If you want power at a later stage, most of the coolers your considering will fit the piping further down the track.
