I noticed on the night he picked it up, after we had been driving for about half an hour that it smelt like fuel inside the car, the fumes were quite bad and mentioned it to hubby. He also took a mate for a drive who also mentioned the car smells like fuel.Could it be a fuel leak? Is this covered by warranty? Is it ok to drive? Thanks heaps Edited 24/08/12 11:45 AM by fordgirl_87

At least it gives you an idea of whether it's a small or large leak. If there's a pool of fuel then it's got a serious hole somewhere...if this is the case, you can stress to the dealer about how it breaches environmental regulations. It's illegal to have fuel or oil or other such liquids entering the drinking water or sewerage systems.

Sounds like it might be leaking from around there somewhere if the smell is stronger inside the car.
