Makes sense! If your not caught in traffic (I spend summer in a small town where theres never stop/start traffic) would it hold up, or you would still experience some heat soak and loss of power. Obviously I don't expect it to hold up to one of the good aftermarket coolers, but just seeing if it will hold up good enough

Well don't quote me word for word, it was a brief conversation, probably going to see the tuner 2moro if I have time and talk to him more. From your experience ratter how well can the stock cooler hold 300rwkw before heat soak starts to kick in? For the occasional thrash on the street will the stock cooler hold up?

Instead of talking power lets talk mph then revert it back to rwkw yeh ?

120 mph has been said many times its right around 340-350 rwkw agreed ?

My car did 120.5 mph for less than 3k retail

Had stock cooler

James had a 124 mph pass on a stock cooler

Both fg f6 coolers both on e85 both ran in vic

So that's 400 mtrs and the per stage and stage and did at least 11 seconds of WOT ( that's close to 190 km/h ) how offen u going to do that?

James had his car tuned at dynomite so regardless of what the vic's say that's a reputable tuner

James spent bugger all aswell , he also did 11.2 at calder park.

So theres some proof pf stock parts doing a minimum of 120 mph ( 340 rwkw ) and 124 mph (370-380 )

This is no b / s just facts make of it what u will

Thanks mate! You're running F6 coolers wheres mines just an XR so I will suffer a little there, but in terms of power Im only searching for 300 so significantly less than you guys (unless I go e85 lol). And I doubt my car will ever see the strip, unless I need to go to Sydney or Melbourne for

some reason as theres no strips anywhere close to Canberra lol. Quite helpful facts, that's what I like lol

Did you run stock piping or change it just for piece of mind?

Herrod piping but I would recomend coolerworx

The f6 cooler is bigger but thinner so its a bit of a same/same

My point was its totally acheiveable your goal and been proven so take 40-50 off the top for e85 and your there no worries the bloke u spoke to sounds ok and hasnt said anything un true

Thanks Jetsnot, I'll let him know I might do the piping for piece of mind but install myself before it goes in for a tune.

Also do you know if theres any benefit to replacing the intake pipe from the crossover to the turbo? Is meant to have a muffler in it so im assuming so. have you done this?

FWIW I trapped at 120mph (11.9) and the tuned dyno reading was 317rwkw (in 2010). XFT's new dyno rolled out 322rwkw a month ago. 340 might be my result through a manual tranny, but your times don't lie anyway.

Only gonna weigh into the piping debate.. I split a stock pipe running a it completely stock..

I'd say go for it if you want mate.. But coolerworx pipe kit would be good to have in the garage so you can fit it whenever you want. (won't affect tune)

Doesnt the muffler aid in airspeed for the little turbo?

Correct air speed is critical on the small turbo

Do it once mate trust me. Stock cooler holds up day to day driving but suffers a lot in summer after a squirt or a long wait at the lights. Also be wary of surging have at least half a tank of fuel. I live in a hilly area and mine surged a few times so I had to get a PW surge tank as well.
