I would not take Bels G6ET past 280 rwkw because of how high the IAT were getting, yes there was more to be had by leaning on things harder, but I wanted this car to last, I have done other FG XR6 T's to 300 rwkw with stock coolers but only at the customers requests.

Don't believe that rwkw or mph are an accurate indication of what is actually happening, if the car made XXX rwkw or ran XXX mph with a sh*tty cooler on it, fact is it would probaly go better with a better cooler on it as the ecu will not be pulling spark so more power would be had from the same boost etc

First step I reckon, buy the new PW stage one kit and fit - no tune. Source some low k F6 injectors - you should be able to find a set for around $200. Save some more coin and buy either the venom bolt up for $450 or, buy a 100cpsi and weld in prior to tune (about $350). Finally, save the $1500 for the xcal & tune. All up a bit under 4k but no double-ups and a quality cooler. 300rwkw all day.

Yes totally true mick and that's why for the average joe u always tune for quality no better way to be in the performance industry

But as u say if they ask for it and are made aware of the pro's and con's its a totally fesiable option without braking the bank

Anything can be done if pushed hard enough

I could actually work if I HAD to lol but being a lazy bugger suits me better :D

making power is easy, makily it reliable is the $$$ part.

the poor man pays twice, I was an apprentice when I got my t, done it all the step by step way and it's cost a small fortune

solid thread to start.....enjoyed the read as im after the same result (300rwkw) and having been slowly adding parts as I can afford them....im not at the stage were I just bought a venom 5" cat from george (venom) and then I just need to call the tuner and book her in :)

But I do feel with the mods I have done I have lost a bit of power? could this be right?

I dont know if its cause its not tuned and the pipes are to big or to much flow or somthing

sounds funny but u blokes should do a back to back run with ya basic mods with the "muffler cone" in and then with it out and see the results, I already know from way back in 08 when we were getting 320 out of a fg xr6 on tolly fuel trying everything to extract power and the muffler cone plays a very important part on the small turbo at 320rwkw it did anyway

just give it a go most tuners would have some idea, but some go for big kits and all out straight away so dont get to see what was going on

Cat/ injectors/ loony toon. It's the cheap quick way to 300 on a cold day.

Not a bad stage 1 IMO. But through some temperatures at the stock coolers and they fail quick. But let's face it summers only 2 weeks long.

Again thanks for the input guys.

So is that a yes or no on intake muffler replacement? Wouldn't it be better without, hence the turbo side intakes and replacement pipes for that section.

I'm going to be telling the tuner that I want safe power. If valve springs come into it or the coolers holding things back then I don't care about the 300 number! I completely agree Ratter.

Because I have time on my side I can keep an eye out for a second hand cooler and piping to come up. But only if its cheap enough because my car really won't be put under too many hard runs. If it passes on the dyno then that's the most it'll ever cop!

Whats peoples opinions on the dump. Personally I'd rather cooler and piping than dump but they must include it in this package of theirs for a reason?

gut the cat and leave the dump

*this advice only relevant if in NZ where it is legal, otherwise it's very very naughty
