Heya guys,

Been noticing something weird with my car.

I took it out to a mates farm and he has this nice straight road :D so I thought I'd take it for a drive.

When I floored it, I got to about 100 and the exhaust made this noise and lost most of the power. It was as if the exhaust 'farted'. Im thinking maybe there was a heap of air going through at once? But its happened a few times.

Talking to a few people who own FG's and theirs do it as well. Is there a way to fix it? Or is it something that's supposed to happen?

Thanks guys :)

Sounds like a gear change ?

Its in for a service at the moment so I'll see how it goes after that. Otherwise a tune is on the list of things to do eventually so hopefully that gets rid of it :) its nothing bad from what im told, it just annoys me :P

Clutz, I refuse to go to the Ford dealers here in Canberra for advice, theyre hopeless. I trust me mechanic with everything. Ive known him for over 15 years (family friend) and he services my dads GT-P and another one of his mates F6.

That's what I said too, all normal. Limits torque between gears in the auto, causes the "fart" sound out the exhaust.

Another thing to watch or look for if your turbo has lost (as opposed to loosing) power is check it has not blown a hose off.

It appears when it changes gears you get a slight over boost and it can pop a hose off.

They are supposed to check all the hoses clamps during the servicing but we all know that checking, and checking, is two different things.

Just some advice I got when I picked my new G6E T

Im not too sure what it was :/ but I had the car serviced not long after posting about this, and it seems to be all fine now :s

My mechanic didnt say anything either, he just said it was normal. And my mechanic is a family friend as well, so he tells me everything that's wrong.
