Next minute throttle became stuck open so I immediately hit the brakes but realised this is not going to stop me quickly as its power v's brakes and the brakes are going to eventually die. So I thought I could I could go down gears if it was in desperate need so I just hit the throttle and it went back to normal. Was scarey though for a split second and I could get me in real trouble if I was in the wrong spot.So where do I start looking? Carpet mats are a long way from the throttle so its not that, so maybe its the throttle body somewhere? Sounds like a APPS problem. Maybe it got jammed. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/81521-wot-throttle-stuck/#findComment-1281439 Share on other sites

Could be a sticky throttle body or faulty pcm buy again never seen em fail like that.... Self test will reveal alot Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/81521-wot-throttle-stuck/#findComment-1281455 Share on other sites

The pedal can get caught quite funnily to a mat that shifts even though it looks like it shouldnt.Im speaking from experiencing it. Also if you have a throttle sticking situation just turn the key to acc to kill the engine but still allow steering etc. Going down gears with it rev limiting isnt going to be great.
