But what if you are doing nuts in a carpark and want to get even more smoke going by shifting to 4th????

hahaha.

Hmm I'm not entirely convinced that the wheel thing was the issue.

Go for a 30 min drive and then try wot 3rd 4th. And get back to us.

But hey if it was this uneven wheel thing then you have dodged a bullet somewhat and good win.

You now need to get a tyre profile for the spare that is the same rolling diameter as the 19's you have on. I find that a 3% difference in rolling can cause this problem is mighty strange but hey, I'm no mechanic!

To sum it up, was slipping 3rd to 4th.

Had 19's on front and 17's on rear.

Put 19's back on the rear, problem appeared solved, but a month later the tranny needed clutch packs replaced.

Reading the initial post you may be right as you say that when driving in manual it changes fine.

But were you changing into 4th at WOT high up in the rev range?, as this would mean you are doing about 150 k/ph.

This is where mine slips but if yours does not slip in man mode than it may have been the wheels.

Theres only one way to find out, where is your nearest freeway....

I have a bad feeling this is what is happening to my ZF.

(Can't be too hard on it as it's done over a dozen circuit days and 175,000kms!)

Change from 3rd to 4th often delays at full throttle on the circuit and find I have to back off a bit to get a smooth selection.

Genuine ZF Oil, Larger heat exchanger, Coolant and ZFfilter changed every year or 45,000kms approx.

Not found a need to join the "Milkshake Hysteria Wagon" with a Cooler. Have an engine oil cooler instead.

Listen to change at the 10sec mark. It is now a lot worse and has an even longer, high rev duration period before selection 4th.

Where do I get this fixed in Sydney and how much approx?

Car has 350rwkw and a lot of torque on the small FG turbo and e85.

not an expert here- but am thinking you need to tighten the camera up a bit

a couple of g's and it goes from front view to side view :sungum:

as for your question, I'll leave it to the group !
