Hello All

I am having issues withe my xr6t shuddering- feels like wheel balance type problem from the rear of the car. I have got wheel balance done- new disc rotors and pads and on car machine- doesn't appear to be a braking issue at all as it is present when not under braking.

When driving at any speed feels like it is a buckled wheel- I have had the wheels balanced and checked for buckles, doesn't appear to be the wheels. I have taken to a place who said that the rear bushes are gone. The thing is since my balance I think it feels much worse. I might take it to another wheel place and see if I can check while on the balancer.

Any ideas- It is getting frustrating-It feels like the wheel is buckled but looked ok from what I could see on the balancer today- (Had cover over balancer so was looking on inside part of rim.)

There is a clunk in the rear when I put from reverse to forward- diff bush? rear bushes?

It is fairly likely it could be the diff bush and/or other rear bushes. I would have it checked out by a respected workshop before you jump to another wheel balance. Where are you located?

Swap wheels around and see what happens. Diagonal swap if tyre tread is not directional so that the suspect rim is as far away as possible? Wheel nut torque spec is 135Nm from BA service manual I scored, not sure if it differs to FG (for those FG owners reading).

Hello All,

Thanks for your responses- I have a friend at a beaurepairs. I took the car there today. It appears that one of the front wheels was buckled a little. I brought 2 second hand rims it appears that I don't need them anymore- o well. I got them to have a look at the diff bush and it appears that there is a split through it. The car feels better already but due to a clunk in the back I think I should get the rear diff bushes done I have a good quote from pedders which I think I will take up.

With the tailshaft what would cause it to be out of balance- stuffed bushes?

your help is appreciated.

Some times weights can fall off or be left off... Generally that's the only way they can become unbalanced, fgs had rust issues but before u felt a vibration it normally broke

hello all- Update-I have got rear diff bushes done- and 2 x rear shocks done at pedders- Drove the car to brisbane from NSW- had a shudder the whole way- kept me awake lol. So I still have the following issues-

shudder through car- worse when going down incline. and now an issue where the car with a splutter when waiting at lights- misses every now and again.

I am going to try and get new rims as I think this may be part of the problem.

Any other suggestions? I might get new hubs.
