The ticking is coming from the cars Harmonicator.

If the car is less than 10 years old don't let it worry you

Ford does that to all of its cars. From the first day you buy it, it starts.

It's the count down to self desrtuct system. Its controled by the computer system.

Mine at 10 years, on its birthday it started.

First was the door locks, then the BECM, Alt, coil pac, Radiator, Lockup Convertor.

So the best thing to do is change the date within the computer.

You can get a new one with the updated date code at www.getcha.harmonicator.gotcha.com.au

Your local ford dealer can do it or send me $100 and I will tel you how to.

I dunno but I just cleaned out my ventilation air filter and my ticking stopped.. usually could hear it when the fan was on a lower setting.

Just gotta open your glove box like half way then pop/pull it up then maneuver it out to gain access to your filter.

Im not sure if the noise is coming from the passenger side or not but by moving the glove box and having someone listen around with a torch handy could help ya narrow down where its coming from too.
