so I ripped out my headlining today, while sound deadening my car for the stereo build im doing, and its pretty fagged.

my car was in a prang before I got it, the repairs are spot on to the mm, but it looks like it was taken out and put back in, and not very well.

so it looks like ill need to replace it, so what do y'all reckin. original beige? or black, with all related pillars done the same?

ideas welcome...

the only hassle ive ever had with colouring pillar trims, is especially being so close to seat belts, the paint will wear out due to scratches, wear n tear, rubbing from the belts, then the beige/undercolour will shine through and stick out like dogs.....

Are there any modesl in the BA range that had black trims? Fairmonts/fairlane's or similar?

Black and carbon fibre vynil would be pretty sexy I reckon.

On this subject can anyone recommend a sweet product to clean the beige. Being a mechanic the days I do drive my car I accidentally get sh*t everywhere :/

Hey Panda eyes, I am going through this right now.

The original colour creamy/ off white/ beige headlining isn't available, so I was told by a few trimmers ?

Hence they use a greyish tinge that's now available, but I have decided to go with black :)

All the cream plastic parts are being covered in black vinyl and he is adamant the fit and finish will be superb ..

Gone for a plush pile black carpet with bitumised underlay as well for my tootsies ...

The whole floor from behind the dash to the rear bootlid has been Dynamatted as well .. 2 x boxes of that cost more than the hoodlining / trims and carpet combined !!

I will send ya some pics in 8 days time if you like for an idea?

hey buds,im going to do the same very soon.I too am going black headlining but all my plastic pillars and seat belt trims are either gonna get plasti dip or painted in a satin black vinyl spray but not the can stuff..my little brothers a trimmer and he deals with a guy that specializes in vinyl spraying and guarantees his work to last over 5 yrs with the vinyl warranty is 7-10..pretty good I think!

if your in Melb ill be more then happy to pass on his details and you can mention my brothers name or business to get a better deal..not that expensive anyway!
