Hopefully I get accepted coz I think I did well which mmfg .... And this is the first time I actually care if I get accepted and could set me up for the rest of my life ...!Crossing my fingers atm I hate waiting

Wow. Didn't even know that existed.Actually looking at the careers listed on the website. Explains a bunch of people I have worked with over the years. Always wondered what degrees those people might have.Don't be a quantity surveyor fluff.Just don't.

And I got accepted into pramedics course, but as u of all people may understand, I can't be away from my baby because I am on night or arvo shift... And I certainly don't wanna loose my years with me family for any career Is all about balanceI got a step up through my work at thisAnd having a look I actually applied for the same course 2 years ago just before I fell pregnant with hudo but never did it due to circumstance and I didn't meet the requirements anyway.... I'm just about to finish a 2 year full time course in 6 months just so I can qualify for this, not its not what j ever saw myself doing, but when I Match it with my life it makes sense, all the things I've ever been curious about, the schedule, the requirements of a person, the job opportunities, the remuneration both small scale and large, it all just fits. Career has been something I've struggled with since before I left high school Family pressured me into doing something amazing because of my grades, at the time my coaches told me to focus on basketball and my career in that, and I myself never even knew what I wanted... And tbh I still entirely don't, but all u can do is be passionate about something and give it all, if it works out then that's great, if it doesn't, then u move on and make the best of it, but I don't wanna spend the rest of my life being in a job I hate, high paying or not, there's a lot to be said about happiness at work, tradesman and worksite suicide rates will confirm that, and if it means I qualify for thirty jobs over my 50 years of working life then so be it, but I'll be laughing at the asshole at his desk whinging about his job flat out and hating his own life. Gives you the chance to shadow someone and start networking with all the different fields early (that networking will be more important than however hard you work in your career).Builder/site foreman is too small and without a trade, or years under your belt. Of course this depends on the size of the site...... you need to always remember that a good project manager doesn't just oversee construction. We are on the books within a week after the money people get a tingle in their pants.I don't want to be a bastard and say this.. but a degree doesn't mean jack sh*t. 90% of the jobs you are talking about is attitude, 8% is bullsh*t and 2% is knowledge. Not saying you can't throw down with the blokes but it's not about throwing down all the time. I always remember one bloke I worked under who said that what we did was like acting. We played the role that best suited the situation to ensure the play had the outcome we wanted.

I don't want your job panda in that repect, not even close .... I don't wanna be a desk jokey pm .... On big jobs , you guys are the brains, but I can't do that kind of work full time ...Not in the slightest.... I wanna be a pm but in the role frame of the pms I know in Adelaide .... Who are more builders then pms, hence Id rather start as a builder first I am actually starting with shadowing my project manager at kennards, he has thirteen projects on atm and I am working with him and I want to do exactly what he does essentially ... As such he has advised that in the small Adelaide market this is the way to proceed while I am working with him. Due to the fact jet has worked on the biggest construction Jobs in Adelaide and also is best mates with the vice president of the biggest independent commercial building company here and he has advised the same pathways along with work place experience which I am getting ... I am comfy in my decision Edited 20/05/15 11:24 AM by Princess Whinginator
