It's almost like I planned to use my 15,000th post to take a swipe at those amongst us that drive unpainted cars...almost

Well I managed to secure one of the last units of the particular TV model I want in Perth. Been wanting a bigger TV for a while as the 37" just ain't cutting it in the theatre room these days...was fine when it was in my bedroom a metre or so away, but not in a large room. New 65" Sony UHD (4K) coming my way Thursday night, ohhhhhh yeahhhhhh :dancing:

So that's this break planned, if anyone wants me I'll be infront of the TV!

For sure man! When I was initially looking into it initial prices were up around $3,500 for a 65" UHD, but I managed to find a store in QLD with an online section that had this particular model listed for $2,992...which is $300 cheaper than what Harvey Norman etc have them listed at. So anyway, I played HN/GG/JB off against each other and HN quoted me $2,942 but neither them or GG would have stock for another 2 weeks. Bloke at JB managed to snag me one of the last units left from a different store and if I bring in the email HN sent me they'll honour/beat the $2,942. Getting transferred to my local store just in time for the first day of my break :wwww:

Can we just go back and talk about why you never have any money Dan............lol

The engine in the Sony 4k is supposed to be awesome and real good for gaming. Is it 3D?

Hope you enjoy it

Haha, I'm well aware why I never have any money Don. I'm not complaining though, all my own choices. But hey, gotta enjoy life while you can, right?! Something I learnt from all the sh*t that happened to my family and friends last year is that life can turn to sh*t extremely quickly, so if I've got the ability to enjoy it now then why not?!

Yeah, I've been doing a lot of reading and was tossing up between the Samsung series 8 and the Sony and I've read nothing but fantastic reviews of the 4k engine in the Sony, the upscaling is supposed to be a step ahead of the other brands. Yep it's 3D...not that I really care all that much about 3D, but whatever.

Cheers mate, I most definitely will enjoy it!
