I did some reading on this a while back. Mainly about isofix.. Anyway australian law requires the seat to display an Australian Standards compliance sticker.. (Similar to what you need on a motorbike helmet).. However unlike motorbikes etc the law hasn't been amended to allow USA standards (like DOT helmets etc), the child restraint law still requires an AS sticker..So.. Option A - it's your kid.. Chances of a cop checking the sticker are slim to freaking none.. However if you have a baby seat that screams 'I didn't buy this at pram warehouse!!' Because of it has a huge RECARO logo on it, well... If I was a cop I'd check it out because I wanted one like it..Option B - pay an upholsterer to reupholster your baby seat on the same trim and maintain the AS logo stamped on the plastic..It's not really an issue about the trim. I am just being a knob I just like how safe isofix is

Why people don't buy decent ones I'll never know.. Another thing to consider is that different baby seats fit to different cars completely different. My little guys seat fits like a glove in the commodore.. But we had to get a different seat to fit the wife's car as it just never felt like it was secured enough.. It's just like a big w safe n sound one but u can just tell the quality isn't there so I've never liked it! But it's also never really mattered until recently coz we only ever went out in the kluger not the jet Think it's probably the smartest option anyway Edited 16/12/14 10:02 PM by Princess Fluffy

I was anal about the car seat.. Did stacks of reading about whether I needed a gated buckle or anything.. Know a fair bit about how cars and car seats perform in accidents so I spent ages adjusting the seat fitment and straps.. Can barely wobble either of the car seats the little guy travels in..
