My eployer both loves and hates that I write everything in massive detail :) I only didn't on my previous posts as I was posting from my mobile phone and typing on that is a real PITA comparatively to a real keyboard.

New tyres are awesome so far. Have to try really hard to spin em up on dry roads. Only let go at top of first. Second gear roll on from low speed is 100% go. Damp roads I spun at top of second.

If this lasts I'm sold for life hahaha.

The Achilles (bad name for a car part I swear) ATR Sport 2, in 245/40/18. For $179 drive away per corner I'm really happy. I was paying $10 less for the 17" Kumho KU31s and these feel at least as good. Much quieter too, hooray.

Car seems to have lost power though :( hah!

I really do have to rev first right out before it starts to slip. Gave it a few good goes in second but if the road was dry it was just all go. This is with TC off so tiny slips could go unnoticed, but car stayed straight so I'm convinced!

Even on damp roads they are hooking up nicely. Marco/Masda74 praised them at first as well though then did a 180 after having them on a while and warned me against them so fingers crossed they don't turn to crud after 5000km.

Mainly it feels great to know I can now go and stop properly in the wet weather. I was getting spin just taking off from the lights sedately and again once in second, it's just embarrassing really.

Steve ive used at least 4-6 complete sets of achillies atr2's because I really believe they are the best tyre for dollar hands down !! Again been saying it for years lol but yes when they get old-ish they wear the last part fast and grip in wet is not the best but weighing up $ for rating they are way up there imho and way better than the ku range by a long shot also imho

Yeah I was encouraged by your posts in the ATR 2 thread. Like you said if you can make them work with that power and a bit of throttle control others should be able to.

I might get a pair of Invos for the front later on but these have cornered nicely on a local 270° off ramp I regularly hit. Full marks so far.
