Is that because the leather binding is loose / spinning?

That is because the binding at the bottom of the strap came loose and was completely off the binding. I kept putting it in and it kept coming out and then spining.

Consider your self lucky. Dealers are very hit and miss when it comes to this. Some say wear and tear and others will replace it no questions asked. I've had both

I have said this before and I will say it again. It all depends on your relationship with your dealer.

If you take it easy and relax and talk to them like a mate, then all is good.

If you go in demanding things to be fixed, good luck. ;)

I simply told Adrian at Seaview ford, that the leather strap keeps coming loose and spining. I asked if they could have a look and see if this is normal.

They replaced the whole gear level including the leather at the bottom that conceals the gearbox. So effectively both leather bits were replaced.

found possibly my new car, awaiting reply from seller, convos, injected 5L with T700 = ultimate tonner, only thing that could possibly make this better is if it had a LS1 in it...
