Not having a dig just actually curious. I personally feel like Ivf is a tough one. A recent study showed ivfbabies are a huge amount more likely to develop cancer. Now call me crazy, but I'm a traditionalist to a point. I think anything that fhuks with the fundemental building blocks like DNA and procreation shouldn't be messed with.I think it could lead us down the garden path in terms of genetics. Excluding people who have had an accident etc and just put in the people who "couldn't" have kids naturally. Is there a reason for it? Those two people in some cases may just be non compatible, one may be unable to reproduce. Is this the bodies way of telling us that it's unsuitable? We don't know because we're not advance enough in science to ascertain it yet. Which is why I think ivf mainstream is a bad idea as a society. Now I don't think anyone who uses the practice is silly or shouldn't as they have their own agendas, and there's multiple forms of ivf, some which carry more risk etc, but I don't think a any less of those who do it.I just feel as if some things should remain untouched, and procreation and DNA remains in that category until we can gather enough answers to ensure we're not fharkkking with our own species in the long term. *disclaimer, studies show some ivf procedures could potentially damage the egg on injection etc, hence why a certain type of ivf where the sperm swims on its own to the egg, therefore choosing the strongest sperm and also ensuring it's viability, makes the most sense. However this is the most expensive practice and also he least common today around the world. This practice and all ivf has the potential to pass on unfavourable genetics. Yes you are right And over time I might change my opinion Especially as people choose more and more certain characteristics for their child Which to me feels wrong. I used to be pro-abortion until I asked myself the simple question "when does life begin?" I am now pro-life, but I don't try to force my beliefs on others Same same for my other beliefs, I don't force them on others, but I like to talk about them And as we all know with social media platforms, some things can not be properly expressed without being condemned by others
