Had another scan and blood test today... that didn't particularly make me feel good. (I don't know how I've got any blood left in my body tbh) but always a silver lining, saw bubs, 36 weeks and on 5lbs 15 at this point. And I have a max 3 weeks left if I dont go before hand. Nice knowing an end date tbh. Very tired and sick now. Have to come home and have a rest from walking 10 mins up a slight hill. Lol. Fark that has come up quick, although I havent been on here alot the past few weeks! Hope all goes well Dani.

Massive. Mrs friend went today 3 weeks early at nearly 9 pound. Anything passed 36 weeks you're good to go. Our youngest only went 36 weeks. Obstetrician didn't want to go anymore. He reckons 36 weeks is perfect for caesars and buns is fully formed and ready to rock anyway you're just wasting time passed then. He came out at 3.6kg and 55cm. Are they waiting till you go into labour to do this or are you booked in?

Are they waiting till you go into labour to do this or are you booked in? 37 is considered full term. There was a recent study saying between 37-39 weeks there a big chunk of brain development that takes place and the risk drops from 30% chance of behavioural issues at 37 weeks to 12% at 39 weeks. that's amplified also if labour wasnt started by itself and the woman was either induced or had a Cesar. My doc would have a fit if I suggested having him now by Cesar lol especially at not even 6lb. At 35-36 weeks 99% of doctors (if birth was needed for a medical reason) would still give steroid injections for lung development. Saying that, that's because an average baby is not quite 6lb at this point and not usually the best equipped outside the womb lung development wise if theyre that small. Cesar babies dont come out the canal which assists lung clearing and makes it easier for the baby to breathe.... so theres an even bigger reason to keep them in til 38+5 which is the magic point they rekon for a section (that's the standard in Aus and UK for "elective" or scheduled sections. Absolutely nothing wrong with 36 week babies, if there's a reason. But there's a very good reason a baby is due at 40 weeks if there's no complications. that's usually the case by most medical professionals anyways. Americans are the only ones quite pushy on early births for larger babies with no other medical reason. We're having another boy rab I'm destined for a house full of boys lol. I'm scheduled in for a 39 week c section unless I go into labour sooner... which I'm hoping to within reason around 38 weeks.

Tell him it's a hell of a lot better than a sister - sisters suck (until they get older and have cute friends - then they suck again when they object to you playing with their friends) You guys are a bit slow - Mick and Bel had their 2nd a few weeks ago

Then a week later he was out. I've got living proof here that brain development study is bullsh*t. The youngest one is the smartest kid I've seen at his age and he was 4 weeks early. You would swear he's been here before with the things he does and understands.

That's not 100% is it? By your logic my cousin born at 34 weeks with cerebral palsy means all 34 week babies must come.out with cerebal palsy... see my point? LolIf u were given steroid injections then bubs obviously had issues as no doctor gives them ans births at 36 weeks just for sheer choice as its not whats medically best. that's 100% fine as I said, if there's a reason... if not then why not let them cook til theyre meant to come out and lower as many risk factors as possible I rekon. As someone whos had a load of family and friends with babies in the nicu and born premie (as early as 24 weeks 500grams big) id prefer to suffer and have em in for their own benefit. I'm a whingy biatch about it lol but its only a few weeks to me... makes a huge difference to them if theyre able to stay in. Rab I know loads of people whove already had their second babies that have huds age kids... (I think their sons even younger than huds)The scan tech even made a comment one day that we left a big age gap... I was like really? Lol.
