This morning I had a good client txt me at like 5:30 am (maybe she sent it last night and it didn't send right away I think) for tech support. I had some free time so arranged to come over at 9:30am.

Got there and had the problem fully resolved by 9:32am and proceeded to spend another 30 minutes 'looking at settings'.

It wasn't so I could charge more money (I didn't), I just didn't want to make them feel like a ginormous idiot by having it fixed so promptly.

I certainly don't miss having to support Managers and the like anymore.

Home visits to expensive looking houses, in expensive suburbs owned by people that did SFA, except make dumb decisions that cost the company money and staff, only helped to confirm my low opinion of them even more.

Stuff that can be done remotely, that's what gets me the most. when people say you MUST be there but you are able to do it remotely haha

oh man if I worked somewhere I'd totally have just fixed this issue and said all done and walked away.

Helped dad in law with new TV he bought as he could not figure out where to plug in the power cord at the back.

Drove there, walked into TV room and fixed it in literally 3 seconds.  He couldn't believe it hahaha.  The drive there took a hundred times longer!

New TVs having those tiny laptop style power packs really threw him off the scent.  Thought it was a screw hole.

PS

no pics of screw hole

Unfortunately our local hangout is closing as of tomorrow after four years, however being such good customers the owner gave us a bottle of red as a thank you.

I'm not a wine drinker but I did have fun watching the others go through a few bottles extra, so now half of IT is slightly slurring their speech & I'm having fun "escalating" requests to them, knowing work is the last thing they want to do right now :)

WMMFG

Had a couple of jogs with a zx10 on the way home

Even with Achilles rears, truetrac gets it to hook up so much better, loving it

Private-ish road, no traffic ahead at least, 3 lanes, massive smile on the dial

Outcome: he didn't pass me, once in 4th I believe I was moving away slightly, both times

Now before all the crotch rocket jockeys jump up and down, I'm not suggesting the rider didn't have the bike to own my arse, but in this case the bike didn't have the rider.

Good times
