Standard engine and trans mounts finally arrived.

Solid mounts, never again.

Put another thousand odd km on it driving to see the missus on the weekend, last time though since she's finishing up her job there this year and should be back in the city/our new house next year.

Have passed this crumbling tiny building heaps and really loved the look of it for some reason so had to finally stop and take a pic! Shame the gate was locked, would've been better up next to it looking over the fields more.

Hit 2 birds but avoided a snake, 2 large lizards, 2 sheep and a roo on the way back. STRAYA hahaha

Oh and we saw (and avoided) an echidna down at her town too. Only the second time I've seen one in the wild.

Applied for a job as an estimator after 12 years on the tools about 30 mins ago, got a call back 5mins later and an interview this afternoon.

I am having one of those what are you getting yourself into moments but stuff it....time to hang up the pliers I think

In my new office once I have them gold plated

Had a 2nd interview just now over the phone. Flat out told me its down to me and 1 other candidate and will get an answer today.

Pretty stoked either way as this is the first crack I've had at moving up the food chain. I am hopefull though cause its like 15min from home. About 20k more a year just starting and their mentality is they would prefer to train an experienced tech as this role is kind of redundant at this point as it is purley to ensure there is somebody to take the senior estimators position in 2 years when he retires. They currently have around 2 years work on the books.

Fingers crossed

Premier Fire, Wet and Dry estimator for construction. He asked what I knew about sprinklers, I rattled off some gear, said I know my way around a valve set, change P/S n sh*t on my own. Set pump cut in's on my own, draining down and jacking up ect. Really not rocket science.

He said that's the best answer to that question I've had and puts you infront of everybody else in thay respect. Reckons they can teach a spark to price wet, doesnt work the other way around...

I was trying not to get my hopes up and initially was indifferent about the prospect, but having had time to think about it....alot. Im keen as mustard.

Also Tyco fire australia just got bought out by evergreen (nfi??) So expect something to go down there I would say..

Professional time wasters, wormworlds made a loss of 20mill last year lol. Comes as no surprise though.

Unsure if that's internationally or just the Australian branch that lost that.
