I also feel that hanging in for a bit longer will greatly benefit me in the future, as cost of living is only going to go up, so having the opportunity to cover my mortgage and the ability to easily make decent extra repayments and get ahead is something I would also be sacrificing by completely changing my career. Not only would my lifestyle change, but my actual cost of living would go up significantly - my mortgage repayments would suddenly go from being easily manageable to being over half my salary (with currently low interest rates), my cost of living would increase significantly - transport/parking/meals/clothes. Changing careers would also be a massive gamble, as I have no idea of knowing if I'd enjoy it, until I'm balls-deep into it. So it'd be a lot to sacrifice for a lot of unknowns. I agree that life is about balance, and in some ways I definitely feel my job gives me more of that than I'd get working in the city...but it does have its drawbacks. But I'm happy to sacrifice a little now if it means that in a few years time I'm able to have the best of both words - work in the city and get to go home every night, but also be in a job that utilises and builds off of all my study and professional working experience to-date and pays well as a result. Yes when I get a chance I need to start a build thread for all the updates.
