Mrs BCB informs me that she doesn't know what to get me for Chrissy.

I suggest new tyres for my Ducati

guess where I'm going tomorrow with my bike rims in the boot?   :bliss:

Should've rode it there then scrubbed them in on the way home.

I don't trust them with my bike for several reasons.

# 1. safety: had a CBR 1000 took it to shop for new tires.

got home and the rear brake caliper had been fitted incorrectly, had wound itself nearly 360 degrees around and was jammed against the top of the swingarm.

# 2. Scratch and dent: some tire fitters are in such a rush to get through their work they can be somewhat careless about the body work.

rushing is also the probable cause of # 1

# 3. abusing your pride and joy:  leaving your bike and coming back at a pre determined time arranged with tire fitter only to find shredded rubber all over the swingarm and under the back guard. A friend of mine had an almost new R1 (first set of new tires) left it with them for a couple of hours, they had done a burn out with the old tire!

# 4. my rims are Marchesini and in my opinion, are a work of art.

I always stress to the tire fitter "please be very careful not to scratch the paint on the rims."

it is much easier for me to carefully take the rims off and refit after new tires are on, also knowing that all nuts and pinch bolts are correctly tightened :spoton:

I agree with everything you've said here. But what I meant was ride it there wait with it even watch it like a hawk then ride it home.

Those marchesini's are art. I know a guy who has fitted them to his streetfightered VFR800.

I have a favourite piece of road I go straight to with new tires.

scrubbed in total lean angle (for me) in just a few klms.

this is what this favourite road does to my tires

pirate bay is blocked :(

but I never noticed cause im on googles DNS. turned it off and got a short n sweet message with a phone number to call for information.

loving it so far, it's more effort to ensure I never give money to foxtel or village roadshow ever again in my life than to bypass the website blocking.
