Grinned my head off when they first drove the unicorn - sounded amazing. Old man is building a Cobra with a AU 220kw v8 - keep telling him to boost the bloody thing but he won't listen

yep, made a pretty healthy number at all fours, shame it ran out of pump. The haltech is an awesome bit of kit, manufacturers should just start using it...

The haltech is all well and good when you're friends with them (as MCM are) and can get custom software written upon request (money??) to suit the car you're trying to attach it to.

Hopefully they put a decent flowing fuel system in it and run it at at least 17-20psi and make 450-500 kW :) They're so happy with such a low power level for the size of turbo and the 'gate pressure boost supply...

Externally gated, though :spoton:

I know what your saying, but I guess from their perspective they cant just come up with software for every possible combo right out of the gate. Id like to think their would have to be some level of product support that involves working with people that are spending the money to pave the way for others.

and its only really the newer oem engines and drivelines that need this extra work. simple engines like the mini or the vw were easy in comparison.

mcm have added the ez36 and vh41 through their projects, who knows what else has been done with it, be nice if the spent some time on support for the barra, hopefully some of the big projects going at the moment see that happen.

If anything the exposure through mcm has shown how flexible it is and they can make it work on anything thus far

You mean in the Q&A video or whatever it was when they're like "oh, an xr6 turbo, maybe one day" (not a direct quote)... Don't remember there being much enthusiasm in the idea. (too easy to make an 11 second car? perhaps ??? :spoton: )

They've never done anything ultra powerful yet. Love to see em go nuts on an xr6 turbo. I suppose it's pretty boring viewing though just bolt ons and engine rebuild...

I really hope that they release another video with the twin pump setup and more boost. It has been a great series.

Saw an old V8 Valiant or something spin the tires from the lights here in Melbourne CBD tonight.  Oh and an old POS small car did a handbrakie around a corner. Not everyone is a lame driver here it seems.  Oh also saw up close a parked lime green Gallardo.
