Small starting and charging issue with the built in the UK Daily 4b.....(shock horror..English electrics not working correctly??)

Googling around and found a TSB from 1997 to rectify the exact symptoms I have (slow crank, low charge voltage at normal engine speeds, erratic bcm operation) Google TSB Part Number available for $15 on ebay and it's merely a cable to run from the Alternator straight to the battery

Who would have thought running the alternator charge cable to the starter solenoid wouldn't be the best Idea?

It's similar to when you tell a chick you'll pull out

The best laid plans can still have an oversight in them

Spending the day watching my fellow club men and woman compete in this weekends Nutri-Grain Ironman/Ironwoman Series.

Our Surf Club has 5 in this season series a great effort for a small country club. Small but strong and well know.

On a high!

Mate called me up last night - he had a hacker in his computer and needed it fixed.

He's already lost $16k due to it (getting a chargeback from the bank??)

Went round this arvo to get to the bottom of it.

His email account had been compromised (very, very weak password) and someone in China had set it to forward all emails to their own account.

They'd edit the purchase invoices he was getting with their bank details , delete the original and send him the altered one with their own bank details for payment.

Sorted it out for him - deleted the email forwarding and changed his password to something a 3 year old wouldn't be able to guess.

Anyway - after sorting him out....

"Want to go for a fly?" (he's a keen pilot - head out a couple of times a week)

"Sure"

Was a great arvo - up again tomorrow night when he does his night time refresher cert (won't be any pics then)

He's actually got me thinking about getting my ticket (flying to King Island or Echuca etc for lunch just because you can sounds very tempting)

Actually - has been a great weekend

Caught up with a mate I haven't seen in over 20 years last weekend.

Mentioned he likes hunting, but has no one to go with.

Have got another mate from the same time I'd kept in contact with (all 3 of us worked at a supermarket together in the early 90's) and I know he's a member of the local Clay Target shooting club and goes deer hunting when he gets the chance.

Anyway - called the other mate during the week and the 3 of us headed off to the local club Friday evening for some shooting at the clay targets (ok - pink plastic ones)

I was in the beginners range (mate stayed with me to keep me company, while the other mate went to the members area and went through his couple of boxes of shells while we spent our 20)

Was my first time shooting a shotgun (ended up about 50/50 hit/miss) which I was quite happy with.

Was great to get the old team back together too - hopefully we'll be catching up more regularly and he's found someone to go hunting with.

So... gun licence and pilots licence - going to be an expensive weekend in the long run lol
