Aim to get zero back at tax time, only works if you have a good accountant More cash flow into your bank account through out the year - use it to offset your home loan Savings accounts are rubbish because they just tax your savings as incomeShould never have a savings account if you have a home loan And yes I know stripes doesn't have a home loan yet.... I'm just sharing my ramblings Edited 04/09/15 09:28 PM by Wilko16

The points are tax free and actually end up worth more to me (if using the points to buy business class flights) than the interest I'd get on a savings account once I've paid tax on it. When I have a mortgage however, literally everything will go in an offset account.

Pixy's wife is only getting it back coz it's already been withheld from her as tax. Doesn't get any interest on it, just the chunk of money back she didn't need to pay.Spot on Stripes. Because wife is still paying off HECS (payed off about 8 years ago) that she doesnt have she gets a a good return at tax time. Its more like a saving account that we dont pay interest on. Probably my first really serious game since April this year. Got the all clear from the doctor yesterday allowing me to exercise properly again (provided I listen to my body and stop when I have had enough).New course I'd never played on.Only managed to par on 2 holes (both par 3).However I did manage a birdie on a par 5. The rest were bogey and double bogey on account of a few chances taken playing through and over trees that didn't really pay off.It was great to get out and play properly again though.
