Looking at all the carnage, and having dealt with hire companies in the past regarding damage, I thought I could possibly be up for a couple of hundred euro €12 for a new mirror, €7 for a new leaver from the local motorcycle shop was all I could repair. To my relief the 2 pretty Greek girls at the hire company were worried more about the injuries that my wife and myself had sustained than the damage to the scooter.They seemed surprised that I had taken the time to repair the scooter myself, and when I showed them the damage that I couldn't repair, one just gave a wave of her hand and said "no problem, it's ok".So, total bill for my stupidity was only €19, yay. Also revisited the hairpin where I crashed and of course, putted around at very slow speed which was actually 20 kph, then rode it again at 40 kph which still seemed relatively slow, so my estimation of crash speed would probably have been about 50 to 55 kph not 20 kph.So I think we are both very fortunate not to have sustained more serious injuries, although my wife has a sore arm that requires pain medication, for muscular bruising which she keeps reminding me of.On a side note, had an absolutely delicious meal last night of fried whole calamari, octopus stew and the obligatory Greek salad, washed down with a local bottle of retsina, finished off with a complementary Greek aperitif. ☺ 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
