Hey fluff.. I did some reading on this a while back. Mainly about isofix..

Anyway australian law requires the seat to display an Australian Standards compliance sticker.. (Similar to what you need on a motorbike helmet).. However unlike motorbikes etc the law hasn't been amended to allow USA standards (like DOT helmets etc), the child restraint law still requires an AS sticker..

So..

Option A - it's your kid.. Chances of a cop checking the sticker are slim to freaking none.. However if you have a baby seat that screams 'I didn't buy this at pram warehouse!!' Because of it has a huge RECARO logo on it, well... If I was a cop I'd check it out because I wanted one like it..

Option B - pay an upholsterer to reupholster your baby seat on the same trim and maintain the AS logo stamped on the plastic..

It's not really an issue about the trim. I am just being a knob

I just like how safe isofix is

Yeah isofix is available with the AS sticker now..

Though I can't tell you where to buy it..

Funny thing about car seats is that it's the cheapest insurance you can get for your kid.. Why people don't buy decent ones I'll never know..

Another thing to consider is that different baby seats fit to different cars completely different. My little guys seat fits like a glove in the commodore.. But we had to get a different seat to fit the wife's car as it just never felt like it was secured enough..

The seat we had in the kluger fits fine in the Brz but id say about 98% good fit compared with how it sat in the kluger which for most people is like absolutely fine but I'm a perfectionist

I'm gonna try my mums car seat which is in her falcon today and swap em over if t works

If not then the old $600 seat can go into jets new clubby and I will get a new one lol

The one in jets car is average coz my my bought it and didn't know what she was looking for. It's just like a big w safe n sound one but u can just tell the quality isn't there so I've never liked it! But it's also never really mattered until recently coz we only ever went out in the kluger not the jet

Think it's probably the smartest option anyway

Yeah good luck. I was anal about the car seat.. Did stacks of reading about whether I needed a gated buckle or anything..

Know a fair bit about how cars and car seats perform in accidents so I spent ages adjusting the seat fitment and straps..

Can barely wobble either of the car seats the little guy travels in..

It's like one of my ocd things

On a side not but still relevant I bought lilly a doggy seat belt and it arrived a few days ago. :)

WMMFG?

Politely telling a client to go f*ck himself.. I even did the right thing and got one of the directors of the company to proof read the email..

I feel so much better after that..

Day off today, and tomorrow. And next week, and week after, and week after, and week after (2 months later) and week after
