Realising how lucky I am to skip a que of 39 to get our pup because our breeder saw how caring and how much of a good home I am gonna make for our lil girl.

Pretty sad she is never gonna meet our family dog as I didn't expect it but I am happy and thankful for them both

Also happy I have found an awesome recaro baby seat that matches my trim in the BRZ

Just need to convince jet now

I've been doing some reading

Recaro are the only manufacturer that make baby seats out of metal (I bleieve aluminium) frame not plastic. They are basicy the safest you can buy on the market for the world.

I can fit isofix in my car which is new in Australia but proven safest worldwide for nearly a decade. Recaro does this and also other styles of seat.

I am unsure where to buy as of yet because goods and handling is a priority as I don't want it to be knocked around etc in transit and compromise the integrity of the seat.

But I am researching so will hopefully find something

In terms of legality, u can put your baby in isofix or any seat like that if u choose and u won't get fined etc for it, the legislation only covers selling here? I may be wrong though

Either way I'd rather a safer proven seat be illegal here and the chances of getting done for it are fark all then a seat that u buy at big w for $59 being a crapper but still meeting legal requirement

Hey fluff.. I did some reading on this a while back. Mainly about isofix..

Anyway australian law requires the seat to display an Australian Standards compliance sticker.. (Similar to what you need on a motorbike helmet).. However unlike motorbikes etc the law hasn't been amended to allow USA standards (like DOT helmets etc), the child restraint law still requires an AS sticker..

So..

Option A - it's your kid.. Chances of a cop checking the sticker are slim to freaking none.. However if you have a baby seat that screams 'I didn't buy this at pram warehouse!!' Because of it has a huge RECARO logo on it, well... If I was a cop I'd check it out because I wanted one like it..

Option B - pay an upholsterer to reupholster your baby seat on the same trim and maintain the AS logo stamped on the plastic..
