Doesn't help when the 2 stories I've seen so far have a pic of an FPV F6 and a Mustang headlining.

Should be a Golf or something that's relatable to the story

edit: not to mention that the Mustang's smoking up the tyres

Cause the media is trying to sensationalise the 'hoon' factor..

On that note I don't 100% agree with it because a sub 130kw/t turbo car could easily become a >130kw/t car with minimal works that wouldn't be too visible to the po po..

But I also understand the need because the system does get clogged up by people needing exemptions etc..

Anything that lets the next generation of drivers look at cars that have some character and (some) performance rather than being stuck with civics and corollas then I'm all for it.

Soon after the red p-plates came into vic the kids were more worried about how much "doof" and how large a cannon exhaust they could get in their cars.

Best thing to happen with bike learners was the lifting of the 250cc limit to a more appropriate LAMS list - right tool for the right job.

Same with the cars - prevented from driving a safer, more economical car because it has a non-performance orientated turbo attached is going beyond the spirit of the idea the restrictions were put in place for.

It's amazing that these politicians made the right choice for once... to go backwards in terms of the rules, but going forwards in terms of the a better possible outcome for both the industry (selling newer cars) and young people alike.
