let us know how you go..... did you take pics? and keep the machine issued voucher/ticket?

lemme get this 100% straight; the carpark is clearly signposted "30 mins", and you were approx 50 mins? did the parking ticket issued from the machine clearly state 30 mins ie a time that the ticket expires?

just wondering whats the best way to mount your defence

Hi Mickus.

I still have the ticket and yes the signpost read 30 mins for 50 cent. I put in the machine $1 think I get a hour. At the time I did not check the ticket I just placed it on my dash thinking I've done the right thing. "thinking" see what happens when you think............grrrr. 50 cent = 30 mins + 50 cents = 1 hour. I put in $1 so should be 1 hours.

I'll let you know whens the date you can come and weave your magic.

If the park was mark P30min, no matter how much you put in it only allows 30 minutes..

Same with P4 and P8 (4 and 8 hours).. No matter how much money you put in ticket is limited to the max time set..

It's a bit stupid.. But unfortunately it's how it goes..

I still completely disagree with a friggin $99 fine for what equated to a 50cent mistake..

If you take it to court I'd state that you are fully prepared to pay the 50cents..

Good point SDP in saying that the machine/local council owns me 50 cents. So they can keep that and all is even again.

It's not as if I didn't get a ticket then I can understand. it was a simple miss understanding and something im willing to fight for. Money hungry bastards.

Lol.. One example of a bodgey parking job is near where I used to work.. $2.50 for 8 hours.. Machine only accepted $2 coins..

$2 got you 4 hours..

prolly the thing that gets up my goat the most is the "officers discretion/attitude rule" that the parking inspectors dont seem to have

cant these farkers hand out warnings? and then if you are still parked there in, for example say, 60 mins after warning issued, well then, you deserve a ticket.

but for 20 mins over, and you can clearly state that you chucked in a buck, and there has been a mis-understanding, or a mis-interpret of the rules and guidelines, hand over a warning, and all is good?

but you repeat offend, there should be a record of a warning issued, well then bend over.

Well said mickus.

That's what I'm talking about I would be lucky to go into town twice a year even then I don't like to, country boy.

Just ticks me off that they walk the streets thinking the own the city. If the did what you recommend mickus they wouldn't get an ear bushing from the public..........bastards!!

Guys... hate to be the bearer of bad news...

You break the rules, you pay the fine. The police don't give any leeway on speeders (2km/h... hahaha, negligible), why should parking rules that are infringed upon be let go?

As much as I hate getting parking fines, I've never got one that wasn't deserved...

The other side of the coin: That person who gives out the fine has a quota to meet, and if they don't meet it regularly, they don't have a job at all (sh*t job). I know what I'd be doing If I was in their situation.
