went to local mchardware store last weekend, some dude at the front door selling tickets for the lifesavers. so I pull up and says "scar non, giz coupla tix" he starts with some big spiel about all the good shiz the lifesavers do (was a french backpacker) and I say look mate, just want a couple tix in the raffle, big spiel continues. Bloke was selling scratchies for a minimum of ten buck and wanted all me details, *beep* that - What happened to the good ol raffle or buying a pin for the diggers?

So I took me coin 20 metres further and got spent it at the sausage sizzle

No I re-address the situation and do 2 U-turns and then stop at the red light, that then makes it all fair an equal, I wouldn't want to gain an advantage over someone from running a red light.

dont spose you write procedures or oh&s risk assessments for a living?

all that dribble sounds very official like

CalderPark management are a bunch of fn useless beep. They send a text message out Monday this week saying they will only take on line bookings from now on. I ring them up to confirm this and ask what happens if people pay online and it gets cancelled due to rain and also when does the online bookings close.

Emily tells me that they provide a raincheck valid for 3 months but are flexible on that time and on line bookings close 2pm Friday for tonight's racing.

I then get a text Wed morning saying the event is cancelled due to lack of entries. WTF!

I ripped though the manager and I wasn't the first to do so.

I told him that not everyone is on their text service and will have no idea that they have to book online and that they will still turn up tonight and it isn't fair they get turned away because of his incompetence.

I asked him how many on line booking they get historically. He said 2 to 3 entries only. No wonder there was lack of entries. People were not aware or not used to the online entry idea.

I suggested he should have advertised on line bookings the last few events so that everyone was aware that from a certain date there will be no drive up entries. I also suggested that they should offer a discount for online bookings in order to start encouraging people to use it and allow them some transition time. Sending out a text the same week of the event is unacceptable. This guy should be sacked. His response to all of this is that due to the cancellation people will now realize it is online bookings only and they needed tough love. Would you let this guy run your business? Fn dumb idiot!

They now turn people away shortly AFTER rising the price... now that's a smart business move if I've ever heard one. +1 to all of the above. Top rant, all around.

Not having my clutch back from Textralia...after a week...

If I only had had to wait 2 weeks, I would have been quite satisfied in my purchase of a brand new clutch kit... It has literally been almost 11 weeks wait time.

Their excuses are as follows: Production has has backed up orders, it'll be between 3 and 4 weeks... then at the 4 week mark, another 3-4 weeks. At the 8 week mark, they finally let me know that their metal foundry (or some sh*t related to production of the actual clutch castings) has closed down due to a business going under recently (iron price or some other rubbish) and that has slowed down, that it'll be another 1-2 weeks. At the 10 week mark, it's a "hopefully next week".

Opinions on the following options:

1. Continue to wait for this clutch, perhaps indefinitely??? maybe even not make the snowies cruise because of it.

2. Spend another extra approx $500 and go for a Mal Wood Option 5 and have it ready...

3. Spend another extra approx $1000 and go for a Mal Wood Option 6 and probably have it ready also...

Keeping in mind that I get my license back on the 14th of October, after literally not having it this entire time I've been waiting, so the wait has literally cost me no time/effort/money so far. :)
