Been having sleeping troubles again lately...really starting to get to me. Can't deal with starting work at 5:30am when I'm not falling asleep until midnight or later, and then not sleeping on break. Really putting me off the idea of having kids...

stripes I go to bed around midnight every night and im up at the same time.

and now I have a 10 month old and I still go to bed the same time and im up at the same time but she wakes us up 2-3 times a night in between, so im living on a few hours sleep a night.

I love her to bits and wouldn't change it for the world.

Lol try having 4 kids in 4 years you two :aaggl:

Anyway what's pissing me off...

Another first world problem...

My town population has increased by about 50% in the last year (which is another farken story) and as a result the internet exchange can't handle everyone and their dog watching netflix every evening. I called my internet provider and they reckon telstra won't upgrade the exchange because they expect everyone to connect to fixed wireless nbn in a couple of months.

That don't farken help me now does it carnts! :gooff:

I feel your pain.

We've got friends who live about 100m down our street and some about 100m the other direction, still same street...they both have nbn connected, our section still doesn't.

As a result, the last month or so our adsl has been getting overridden (or whatever tech word applies) at the telstra hub we're hooked up to, by all the new nbn congestion.

Had 30 drop outs in a couple of hours the other day, actual speed is great at up to 20MB/sec but useless if you're not connected.

Not bad during the day but come 6pm it's sh*te.

Telstra has come out and so has nbn people, nbn guy hinted that the best way to deal with was to hassle telstra regularly dropping the 'O' word - ombudsman - and request to be relocated to a different hub, the current hub is 800m away which is apparently unusual in a suburban area but the next one may be less congested.

Pretty much been downloading like mad during the day for any entertainment - not so bad when you get used to it.

Congestion on the NBN is a big thing it seems, I keep reading about it happening on forums.  Each house now able to smash at least five times as much data per second is showing bottlenecks in the ISP networks when all the torrents and HD videos happen in the evening.

Sometimes changing ISPs helps people but it's a crapshoot.

Pretty disappointing.

NBN congestion is a hugely better scenario than ADSL congestion.

But it still sucks, of course... it's the nature of a "shared" service.

I agree, they also like to mess around customers - telling them its their wifi or homes cabling that is faulty.

The government / nbnco needs to fix the CVC cost per megabit bullcrap. They have been working on it with recent changes but the cost is far from reasonable when the idea is to provide high speed internet to more people.
