The issue was not lack of ports but noise on line so Telstra told me, they were attempting to resolve that but then I got a letter in the mail saying EAD... extra annoying is I paid to have the phone and power cables run in 6 months ago to replace the collapsed existing conduit. Cable length according to original Telstra Tech that connected landline is about 4km, he said anywhere from 3 to 8 megabit. Out in rural areas they use thicker gauge wire to reduce attenuation so it performs like you are closer than in the burbs for a given loop length.
