Well after many months waiting I finally got my price and inclusion for my house.

Price is about 10% over but I allowed for that due to the slop of the block.

What pi55es me off if that there is making money and MAKING money.

I changed carpets to timber floors in the beds as I had mentioned twice before throughout the design plan but never added. I ask them to change to timber flooring and they quoted me $6500 NOW that's MAKING money.

This also goes with retaining walls said it will be in the house price but now its not included, surprise surprise. Looks like a job for ME!!

Bathroom floor to ceiling tiles extra $1800

Ensuite extra $1200

Free standing bath extra $1800

Kitchen upgrade to polyurethane $3400

and the best of all NO handles on kitchen cupboards $850. WTF!! So its true less is more.

And no security alarm which I thought would be a standard inclusion.

I also asked to remove the standard bedroom lights and fit with ceiling fans almost $2000, pass.

Over all still happy with what im getting but bloody hell I know when im getting ripped off.

Rectified porcelain tiles?

Mate I remember you saying that your block was quite steep. How much are you planning on retaining? I'd be very cautious DIY'ing decent retaining.

Tiles im not sure but we now get to pick what we like and not there standard white gloss.

Retaining wall I have only 1 wall to do now at the rear of the house. Council states anything over 600mm will need council approval. ATM its unknown to the high builder tells me we wont know until we start digging.

If over 600mm im going to step the wall to its max so I dont have to go through council.

Im looking at going with besser block retaining wall core filled and strengthen with rebar.

Lol. They priced before you picked?

Council say 600. Building code says 1000m

If going block and core filling, make sure the footing is 100%

If you want to save money do B grade sandstone and grout the gaps.

That actually sounds amazing.

I'd love to start up the bike and rev sh*t out of it and 'pretend' I'm working on it and leave it going for ages, or crank my own music up in retaliation, however they live in a house on a block of land, I live in a unit that's got other unit's surrounding it which is located at the back of their property so I'd do nothing more than piss off my own neighbours who whilst I have nothing to do with, are what I'd consider for the most part 'good neighbours'.
