When I used to skate I would smash a pair of shoes every 4 weeks and smash a deck every two to four weeks. 360flip is a *beep* of a trick but I got there in the end.

You can tell ya son my best setup.

Element feather light deck with venture trucks and china bone reds. Swiss bones for indoor. Best I did back in the day was a kick flip 6 stair now I can't be bothered going down stairs. Lol

The deck was an Element and I think it's got independent trucks.

He built his own board and from memory it was around $300!

Looks like I'm gonna get a lot of sh!tty jobs done around the house so he can buy a new deck

Man I went through so many decks. I used to hang them on my walls until mum and dad said to many holes in the walls. Have tried many setups over time. I guess now im back down in weight I might hit the park again. Haven't hit a half pipe in 9 yrs.

I used to be able to do back flips on my blades when I was 15.

Wow that's 14yrs ago.

What pisses me off. Feeling old at 29. FML......

Everybody is different biz but I live by a couple of simple rules that get me by. Among them are "never give up" and "I will not be beaten"

Easy to say right? I see it like this. You can either press on until you get where you want to be, or just give up and let everything go to sh*t....leaving you to either pick up the pieces when you snap out of it or...well you know what.

That doesn't mean I don't get depressed, in fact I've been having a real tough time with pretty much fkn everything of late. I also let it get to me to much at times. But I always pick myself up and take another swing. Life itself is nothing more than a phenomenal coincidence, your very existence is nothing more than that despite what some would have you believe. Nobody should be wasting it.

My condolences to you and your family.

Far out I remember those messes of skateboards back in the day.

Ever tried switching to an aluminium board? They will bend eventually but mine held up for a damn long time.

We used to use és shoes and cover the vulnerable bits in shoe goo. Definitely lasted longer than 4 weeks!!

Oh and tensor trucks FTW.

Have had:

Powell blanks

Element (heaps)

Hawk

xen

Ezekiel stairs deck

Judah

Was pretty limited in deck choices where I lived. I did like the aluminium deck mainly as it didn't break.

Had the same problem. Had to pay my own way for this stuff so yep, shoe goo'd the crap out of my shoes.

Biggest achievement I did was 11 stairs in the city. Oh yeah. Believe it or not when I was young me and all the other from church got the signatures up to get the city skate park made. 25k worth and now its getting done over for the new uni building. Karnts
