The worst part is by the time we packed him up and got him there the Panadol had kicked in and he was happy and smiling and chatting up the nurses.

Better safe than sorry as it hard to distinguish between a regular virus and fever and something like meningitis.

We made the gut call and went to ED once and the little guy had a form of meningitis. Best decision we ever made.

You can't screw around with kids and hope it'll get better.

Toddlers + fever = much stress!

I think most kids go thru the fever stage up to 3 years old, I know mine both did and it stresses you out bad.

It's always difficult to tell if it's serious or not, sometimes even the doctors and nurses aren't that sure.

It gets much better as they get older though and they can communicate better with you.

The Baby and Toddler years are the scariest but also some of the best
