Check/tighten the drain bolt?

Might give it a look later on, if it's as simple as that I'll be stoked

It'll be a 15mm head.

Could be a stuffed washer.

Good excuse to do a diff oil change. Make sure that you can remove the fill bolt before you drain it - pretty sure it's a 10mm allen key. Bondhaus make a nice long one that gives good leverage.

If you really had to, you could remove the drain bolt, bold a thumb over the hole and fit a new washer to the bolt with your free hand.

Diff oil: I use Penrite Pro Gear 80-140. It's expensive and heavy duty, but does the job well and doesn't require any additives.

Good excuse to upgrade the diff.

Good thinking!

Can't see a washer between the drain bolt and the diff cover, should there be one? Was last serviced a while ago now, maybe 20-30 thousand! Hard to recall.

Was surprised how hot it was even after sitting for a couple of hours.

Two of the other bolts I could access were a little loose, not much though. Tightened them up pretty good and degreased the area so I'll check for drips tomorrow (maybe). Also I have the plain filler bolt it seems, which is too big for any of my sockets. Forgot to measure it but I know there are multiple sizes.

*sniff*

What's that you said? Cradle out for new diff?

(I wish)

Could it be an axle seal? Just doing some googling. Guess we can have a look on the hoist. I'll buy some oil beforehand.

That's the cover leaking mate. Cradle out to fix that.

I knew there's a reason why I've got utes and wagons... leaf spring back ends = easy to maintain.

Taxis - cheap and easy to maintain takes priority over comfort around corners.
