I agree kill them all. But they don't wear a uniform.

How do you identify them and then wage a war in them?

If you ever watch a series called Ross Kemp in Afghanistan. He did a second series as well.

You realise that even in the afghan war how did you know who the enemy were.

Then there's ROE which will make no sense to most in here. Rules of Engagement.

The GC and RoE are almost always a little odd to a civilian, but if everybody agrees, then it stays...

Kimbo that's true with most of the wars fought since WW2.

And it's not getting any easier!

I do a lot of reading of autobiographys from those that served in the 20th and 21st century, in all theatres of war.

And I have absolutely no idea of how the modern military go about dealing with these enemies of the civilised world.

But like most, I know they must be stopped.

These enemies that use terror and human shields etc etc need to be dealt with at all costs.

War is not the easiest or most straight forward answer (never has been) but it is an answer!

Don't get me wrong I agree and would love to have a few kills under my belt.

I have never fired a weapon in anger.

Though the old adage. Be careful what you wish for. So not wishing. It's someone's else's turn now.

It's not something I "wish" for but I feel for the majority of the people who have been subjected to these extremists.

And ultimately the innocent will bear the brunt of any actions.

The other part of the story is it was we the West who stirred up this hornets nest a century ago and have on the whole probably made things worse.

I think we have an obligation to set things right.
