I have a Fender Mustang II, XR09. Great little amp If you want to try different set ups and sounds. You can plug it into your computer and add virtual sound boxes, reverb or distortion amps via USB with the program that comes with the amp. You can also go online and download preprogrammed amp files to replicate particular bands and songs too making your LP sound like a Strat or Telecaster.

I was tossing up between this amp and a Marshall but really for me this set up is prefect in size (about the size of a normal practice amp) and utility until you would want to go down the path of a proper expensive valve amp with all the pedals and gear.

Kinda feel like a traitor playing an Les Paul through a Fender amp though rofl

I'd be hinting to your mate about that Goldtop for sure. Rare as hen's teeth!

read and enjoyed, I love music, dont playing anything but would love to learn guitar or bass.

I see you started later on, so maybe there is hope for me yet.

I can really appreciate the whole feeling attached to the amp, im the same with bikes.

some ppl will never understand and they are the ones losing out.

It's never too late to start. I'm 28 and started less than 2 years ago. It takes time and you only get as much as you put into it. Find a good teacher and go from there. Try not to skimp out too much on your first electric guitar either.

Buying an Epiphone custom Les Paul or a cheap Gretsch for about 700-800 would be ideal if you can push the budget that far. The cheaper Les Pauls with the bolted on necks wont last you long at all.
