At work we usually get a meat tray supplied by the boss so it's a pretty good shift to work.

what a lot of sh*t , I am a glazier by trade . but that means nothing at all ,because someone of the street can get the same pay as me if he can do my job . and also the ambos get

paid more to start off with than what my misses gets .so if the hospitality people do not get paid more over Christmas than the ambos should not get paid no more as they knew

I understand The point your making, but at the end of the day even retail gets penalty rates on public holidays, so if she's not getting penalty rates then that's either illegal or she signed it away in an agreement when she started employment.

I never said she shouldn't get paid penalty rates ... My issue was with u comparing ambos to retail workers in the same job category. I got the impression you were saying it's all the same in which case I strongly disagree.

I don't know anything about the glazing trade but I can tell u right now it doesn't take a scientist to get pulled off the street and thought how to order some stock for a servo.

The point I was making generally speaking is from an employers perspective they will only pay what people are worth to them.

In the case of a retail worker then that's not a whole lot and they generally aren't looked after much because u can hire any monkey off the street to serve people and work in a lot of mainstream retail places.

In the case of panda say, it's hrder to replace him, definitely not impossible but a lot less of his type around than a person with no quailes or experience who can work a counter.

I'm not having a go as I've worked retail for a huge chunk of my life. But I also am aware that Xmas and sh*t falls into it.... From your first post you seemed mad about her having to work the holidays. Your second post u clarified but then compared it to someone with a higher paying and important job to the community. That's where my issue was...
