Bonnet is well worn anyway and it's never been a show car. I'll just have to get pro with my touch up paint technique now so I don't stare at it every time I get in the car! Accidents happen and she was putting a baby in the car. I should have left less room instead of reverse parking it over a bit. Might not have tried to open the door fully. Life goes on.

If someone opened a door into mine they would sure as shìt be paying to get it repaired! Show car or not, it's the principle of the thing. Too many people these days who have no respect for other people's stuff...and unless someone actually turns around and calls them on it how the fùck else are they going to learn to be more careful?!

And if a panel beater touches it up it only looks worse ,unless they paint the whole car . it just looks like a patchy car after its been done .rather have the battle marks than camouflage patches

Last year someone in the car park at work opened their door and damaged my vehicle. What is worse, they did not leave a note or ask who the car belonged to. I am sure she knew who the car belonged to.I went home on the Friday arvo and when I got home, I noticed the damage. On Monday I went to every car that had a door that was X cm in height to find the culprit. The only car that could have damaged the top part of the left rear panel, had to be a 4x4.I approached her and asked her about it. she acted all dumb(and not she was not blonde). I showed her that no other car in the parking lot could have done the damage. The only car was her car and I also showed her the loss of paint on her door. She did not deny it or argue it.I got a quote the next day to get it fix and handed it over to her. I asked her if she wanted to do a cashy or insurance. She started to argue with me(and I am sure her husband must of had a few words with her about it the night before).I went straight to my insurance and provided the evidence and the pictures of my car and her's and they took on the job of following through.I never spoke to her again and I never heard from her either. All I know is that my insurance company called me after all was fixed to say that they got paid directly from her and not her insurance company. If you damage it, you pay for it to get fixed. You have no idea how bad my wife's ford focus looked like, up until March with dings and scratches because some Kent opened their door into our car, or used their bull bar to scrape the side of the back panel and did not have the respect or audacity to leave a note. f*ck that sh*t.I would have tried to contained my frustration in Steve's situation especially a women with a baby, but I would have made sure that the car would be fixed the right way.
