Just some "engine builders" don't know chit from clay and then do that kind of shocking work that's inexcusable for money that was paid !

ffs , lost password for itunes backup. I figure no problem - I'll simply delete the backup and then make a new one.

nope - itunes is demanding the old password even though all im trying todo is make a new backup!

it's so annoying cause it says 'your iphone has never been backed up on this computer' then when I click backup it demands a password which nothing ive entered works.

why must I be so retarded to use a different password for every single service, especially one on my local PC which I could have just used the password ive used since high school for it LOL.

edit: I have to MANUALLY go into my phones filesystem and delete something in order to reverse my stuffup. sure its my stuffup but I kinda miss android and how hopelessly insecure it is where I can break into virtually any device even some of the encrypted ones.

I had this problem 6 months ago, except magnified a lot more.

Try supporting a fleet of iPhones & iPad's for Manglement, staff and Board members.

After tearing what little hair I have left out, calling Apple support multiple times, going through god knows how many forum posts and posting on Apple's forums myself, I had to backup each device, update iTunes and if any failed and I couldn't restore from backup, give the device back as a clean install with our regular apps including Citrix and our mobile device management software and configuration.

This is because our company does NOT allow any company data on third party backup site like iCloud - this includes emails, iTunes and iCloud backups by default include WiFi passwords, email account passwords etc.  This is also why we don't support or allow Microsoft Outlook for android, which MS bought from a third party and keeps your credentials on their Server. (http://www.pcworld.com/article/2881632/eu-parliament-blocks-new-outlook-apps-over-privacy-concerns.html)

In your case to get around the problem, apart from resetting all settings on the device and starting again, backup to your iCloud account, as it only requires the iCloud password for restores.

It's only local backups to your PC that require the backup password.

There's no rhyme or reason as to what the password is, some people on the forum found it was their login password at the time they created the backup, others found it was a password they used years ago, most never found out what it was.

its been going all day man :( the icloud backup that is.

the worst bit is I signed up for more punishment by getting an iphone 7 plus.

I tried a whole bunch of passwords too :( every icloud password, windows password, etc. oh well, not in a rush to dispose of this device, I will attempt to get as much money as I can get for it!
