I used to have to wear contacts and glasses all the time. My prescription wasn't huge, but the short sightedness combined with the astigmatism just made everything blurry.Since the surgery I learnt to appreciate the simple things, like being able to look across my bedroom when I wake up and actually see things.

Does it reset the degeneration or is it a permanent fix?

Interestingly my eyes haven't changed in ten years. Ootometrist said there was a phenomenon where males in their mid 20s in Western cultures experience a sudden deterioration in eyesight, but it then remains steady. Doesn't affect females or other cultures and is obviously different to age related deterioration or needing glasses from a young age. Would make me a good candidate for laser I reckon if I didn't need a new bathroom, laundry and deck!

It can be redone at some stage if need be also.

Have a browse through here http://www.visiondirect.com.au/designer-sunglasses/general/----------------2-----prescription-- Do those prices seem any better? (I think each one shows how much extra for prescription lens when you click on it) Can't remember how much cheaper my Raybans were from getting in the store, but it was a fairly significant saving. Main issue is cycling glasses are designed a certain way to help peripheral vision and the fact that you are looking up more than usual (head is forward). You can get cycling glasses with interchangeable lenses for night and glare for about $40 and then it doesn't matter if they break in your bag etc! That's the main problem - need one set of prescription lenses in daylight on the way to work, another set for riding home in the dark.
