I used to have to wear contacts and glasses all the time. Interestingly my eyes haven't changed in ten years. Ootometrist said there was a phenomenon where males in their mid 20s in Western cultures experience a sudden deterioration in eyesight, but it then remains steady. Doesn't affect females or other cultures and is obviously different to age related deterioration or needing glasses from a young age. Does it reset the degeneration or is it a permanent fix?Still subject to the same old age degeneration as everyone else, but for me the idea of not needing glasses for possibly 20 years was worth it. Main issue is cycling glasses are designed a certain way to help peripheral vision and the fact that you are looking up more than usual (head is forward). You can get cycling glasses with interchangeable lenses for night and glare for about $40 and then it doesn't matter if they break in your bag etc!
